How to Measure Your Foot for Your Slingshot Size
The best method? Measure the exact length of your foot in millimeters (Mondopoint). It's the international standard and it's what you'll find at Slingshot.
Steps for Accurate Measurement:
- Time it right: Measure in the late afternoon. Your feet swell slightly after a day of activity, so that's when you're at your largest.
- Use a flat, hard surface: Place a white sheet of paper on a flat floor—no carpet, no mat. You need a solid, level surface for an accurate reading.
- Stand barefoot with full weight: Stand naturally as if you're about to ride, with your full weight distributed evenly. Don't lean to one side.
- Mark the farthest point: Use a pen to mark on the paper the point farthest from your heel—either the tip of your big toe or little toe, whichever sticks out the most.
- Measure from heel to mark: Using a ruler or measuring tape, measure the distance from your heel to the mark you made. Record this measurement in millimeters.
- Measure both feet: Your two feet may not be exactly the same size. Take the larger measurement—that's the one that should guide your size choice.
Montaz Tip: If you're torn between two sizes after measuring, the golden rule is to go up a size. A wake boot that's slightly loose can be adjusted with thicker socks or a tighter strap. Too tight, and it's really uncomfortable and will kill your session.
Fit & Support: What You Need to Know
Finding the right size is one thing. But the final fit depends on you too.
- Tighten gradually: Slingshot wake boots feature advanced lacing or closure systems. Don't crank everything down right away. Start loose, then tighten gradually once you're in the water. Your foot will position itself naturally.
- The right socks matter: A thin sock or neoprene sock makes all the difference. With thick socks, you might need to size up. Quick math: 5 mm of neoprene = about 5 mm extra in sizing you should account for mentally.
- No heel movement: When tightened properly, your heel shouldn't move inside the boot. That's your indicator that the fit is right. Place your feet flat, tighten up, then try lifting your heel while keeping the boot on the ground. If it shifts, tighten more or size down.
- Test in the water: On the day you ride, you'll be in the water fine-tuning your fit. It feels different on land. Water pressure and slightly expanded
